Ἔχουμε μπλέξει τὰ …μπούτια μας μὲ τόσους …«πατριῶτες» καὶ χάσαμε τὴν ἔννοια τοῦ πατριωτισμοῦ.
Ὁ Σαμαρᾶς κάθε τρεῖς καὶ λίγο ἔτρεχε νὰ δόσῃ τὰ σέβη του, τὶς ἀναφορές του καὶ νὰ λάβῃ τὶς ἐντολές του.

Π. Καμμένος: Διέκοψε την επίσκεψη στις ΗΠΑ κι επέστρεψε Αθήνα

Αντί γιά την Παρασκευή 3 Απριλίου, ο υπουργός, μη έχοντας τίποτα σημαντικό να κάνει στις ΗΠΑ μετά την παρέλαση της Κυριακής, απεφάσισε να αναχωρήσει το απόγευμα 30 Μαρτίου από Νέα Υόρκη, επιστρέφοντας στην Αθήνα.
Την Δευτέρα 30 Μαρτίου, πριν την αναχώρηση, συναντήθηκε με την μικρο-οργάνωση AJC (American Jewish Committee), την οποίαν μόνο στην Ελλάδα θεωρούν «σοβαρή» και «μεγάλη» οι άσχετοι με αμερικανική πραγματικότητα Έλληνες πολιτικοί και τα άσχετα ΜΜΕ.
Μετά συναντήθηκε με τον αρχιεπίσκοπο Δημήτριο και οι δυό τους αντάλλαξαν τις «φιλοφρονήσεις» που συνηθίζονται σε αυτές τις περιπτώσεις…
Και ο Τέρενς Κουίκ διέκοψε την παραμονή του στις ΗΠΑ επιστρέφοντας Ελλάδα Δευτέρα 30 Μαρτίου, αφού ανεχώρησε την προηγουμένη, λίγο μετά την παρέλαση της Κυριακής στο Σικάγο, όπου εκπροσώπησε την κυβέρνηση.
Σημ.: Προς τιμήν του, ο υπουργός Αμύνης, μετά τις αποκαλύψεις του «ΚΑΛΑΜΙ», έπραξε το ορθό και λογικό και ΔΕΝ πήγε τελικά σε προγραμματισμένη συνάντηση-εκδήλωση στο κτίριο της Ομοσπονδίας απατεωνίσκων Νέας Υόρκης, στην Αστόρια.

Να βλέπεις την πραγματικότητα, να γνωρίζεις τις ατιμίες, αλλά να αναγκάζεσαι να τα κρύβεις και να ψευδολογείς, παραμυθιάζοντας αναγνώστες, ακροατές γιά να μην χάσεις την διαφήμιση. Και η δημοσιογραφία, η αντικειμενική ενημέρωση; Ποιά δημοσιογραφία και ενημέρωση; Προέχει η ‘κονόμα.

ΔΕΝ ΠΑΕΙ ΑΛΛΟ: Είναι επιτακτική ανάγκη η εθνική παρέλαση της Ομογένειας να διοργανώνεται από ανεξάρτητη Επιτροπή, χωρίς άμεση ανάμιξη των άχρηστων-επιτήδειων της ελληνικής Ομοσπονδίας Νέας Υόρκης, χωρίς συμμετοχή εμπορικών επιχειρήσεων και συμφερόντων.

«NEW YORK – Prime Minster Antonis Samaras told guests and members of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) at a breakfast meeting on Sept. 30 that relations are getting closer with Israel and the battered Greek economy is on the way to recovery.

The event was hosted by Stan and Marion Bergman in their home, a high-rise apartment with spectacular vistas that impressed Samaras, whom Stan Bergman, the President of the AJC, called “A visionary we are proud to call our friend.”

Bergman set the tone for the meeting by quoting Winston Churchill on the commonalities between Greek and Jewish culture and their contributions to Western Civilization.

He also provided an overview of the decades-long ties between the AJC and the Greek and Cypriot-American community, and the evolution of relations between their homeland into to an “enduring and very strong friendship.”

The morning’s highlight was Samaras’ description of his trip next week to Israel, which he noted will have an historic government to government dimension, with high-level meetings including discussion between minsters of the two countries.

David Harris, the Executive Director of the AJC, who also addressed the gathering, seconded the historic and important nature of the trip.

Samaras said it is the next step in building a “comprehensive and strategic partnership” with great scope for cooperation in fields such as energy, a topic which was touched upon during the Q & A period that followed his speech.

Samaras said the deepening relationship of Greece and Cyprus will become a “beacon of freedom and hope” in the region, while also fostering stability and security, justice and economic growth.

He began his speech with references to the common suffering of the Christians and Jews of Greece during the Nazi occupation – 10 percent of the Christian population and virtually the entire Jewish community perished – and the efforts of the people and leadership of Greece to protect their neighbors from the holocaust….»

AJC Honors Greek Foreign Minister Papendreou

May 3, 2000 –  WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Jewish Committee today honored Greek Foreign Minister George Papandreou for his extraordinary contributions to Greek-Jewish and Greek-Israeli relations.

“It is especially gratifying for me to see the revolution in Greek-Israeli relations that has taken place over the past two decades,” said AJC Executive Director David A. Harris, who made the presentation to Minister Papandreou.“There is no better friend in Greece of the Jewish community, of Israel, and of the United States than you, Mr. Papandreou.”

Mr. Harris spoke after the Foreign Minister addressed AJC’s Annual Meeting. Mr. Papandreou praised the American Jewish Committee for furthering Greek-Jewish relations, and also spoke warmly of Ambassador Alfred H. Moses, the former AJC president who is the Clinton Administration’s point man on the negotiations to resolve the Cyprus conflict.

“I am proud to be here today among friends and colleagues who have worked enthusiastically and diligently so that these collaborative ties have survived the test of time,” said Mr. Papandreou. “Today those ties have blossomed through the tireless efforts of people like David Harris.”

Praising AJC as an organization, the foreign minister said: “The American Jewish Committee has demonstrated a longstanding interest in advancing Greek-Jewish relations and interreligious dialogue through frequent visits to Greece and by maintaining warm relations with the Greek American community.”

Ναί, ἡ παρέλασις ἔχει καταντήσει, βάσει τῶν καταγγελιῶν, κάτι χειρότερο ἀπὸ …καρνάβαλος.
Ναί, δὲν εἶχε κάτι σημαντικότερον νὰ κάνῃ, παρὰ μόνον νὰ συναντήσῃ τοὺς Ἑβραίους.
Δὲν μποροῦσε, ἄς ποῦμε, νὰ βρεθῇ μὲ Ἕλληνες ἐπιχειρηματίες.
Δὲν μποροῦσε νὰ συναντηθῇ μὲ ἐκπροσώπους τῆς ὁμογενείας…
Δὲν μποροῦσε τέλος πάντων νὰ ἀσχοληθῇ μὲ κάτι πιὸ σημαντικό…
Τὸν ἐλάχιστο ἐλεύθερο χρόνο του τὸν ἀνέλωσε ἐκεῖ ποὺ ΚΑΙ οἱ προκάτοχοί του ἔσπευδαν.
