Ὁ Ἡρῳδιανὸς (Περὶ καθολικῆς Προσωδίας, βιβλίον ζ, 172) ἀναφέρει σχετικὰ τὰ ἑξῆς:
«Τὸ ἔθνος τῶν Σολύμων, ποὺ εἶναι οἱ Πισίδες, ἔλαβαν τὴν ὀνομασία τους ἀπὸ τὸν Σόλυμο, τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ Διὸς καὶ τῆς Χαλκήνης.»
Ἐπίσης συνεχίζει
(Περὶ καθολικῆς Προσωδίας, βιβλίον ζ, 175):
«Εἶναι ἔθνος ποῦ κατοικεῖ εἰς τὴν Ἄσπενδον καὶ τὴν Κιλικίαν»
